Blua My Genomics

Genomic healthcare uses the evolving science of genetics to help you and your doctor proactively manage your health.

DNA tests can help diagnose diseases, or show if you're at risk of passing a condition on to your child. They can also show whether you're likely to develop certain health conditions, and how you'll respond to different medicines.

In addition to reproductive carrier screening, we'll soon be adding genetic testing services for personalised medicine and preventive healthcare.

Your genome is the blueprint that makes you 'you'. It's your body's set of genetic instructions that you inherited from your parents.

Almost all genetic information is identical among humans. But each person has genetic variations (around 0.1% of their genome1) which make them unique. Most genetic variants are harmless, but there are some that can influence your health.

Advances in genomics mean that we can move away from a 'one-size-fits-all' approach to health, and make personalised medicine the new normal. Genomics lets you know what's right for your body - and helps you make better choices about your health.

Your genes. Your data.

The unique makeup of your body is sensitive information, and Blua takes privacy seriously. When partnering with genomic service providers, it's important to us that they prioritise privacy and data security too. You can learn more about how your data's handled on each specific service page.

Privacy and
health insurance

Your genetic information is private. Details of any genetic tests won't be shared with any other part of Bupa, and won't impact your health insurance premiums.

Blua only collects de-identified information from these services, which can't be linked back to you.
