Preventive health

Some genetic variants can increase your risk of developing certain health conditions down the track.

Identifying these risks is possible now, with whole genome sequencing. Knowing about these risks can help you and your doctor make good, proactive choices about your health.

Know your
genetic risks

A genomic test provides information from many genes, giving doctors a better chance of finding genetic variants that may cause you future health problems.

Blua will soon introduce a whole genome sequencing service, which could help you or your doctor identify your risk of developing certain health conditions. Your doctor can help to advise if this test is right for you.

Take action for your future health

The results of your whole genome sequencing test will provide information on specific genetic variations where there's an opportunity to take action for your future health.

For example, some genetic variations cause an increased risk of certain types of cancer or heart conditions.

Knowing there's an increased risk could help you and your doctor to prevent a health condition, or to keep an eye out and detect it early. Knowing your genetic risk could help you to make targeted lifestyle changes to decrease your chance of developing a specific health condition.1
