The Blua app and website are operated by Bupa Telehealth Pty Ltd (referred to in this notice as ‘Bupa’, ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’). This notice provides an overview of how we will handle your personal information when you create a Blua profile and use the Blua app. For more information you should also review our Privacy Policy.

The data we collect and how we use it
When you use the Blua app, we may collect information from you for the purposes outlined below:
- Your name and date of birth - to create your Blua profile
- For Bupa health insurance members, your address, details of the insurance policy you hold (not claims you have made), length of your membership and Bupa Life Rewards Loyalty Tier – to personalise your experience in the app, assess your eligibility for offers and rewards and to personalise in-app offers and promotions
- Your sex assigned at birth and whether you identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander – to ensure the accuracy of personalised health recommendations, insights and resources, which can be impacted by these factors)
- Data from your wearable devices (if you choose to connect them) your health history and lifestyle factors that you input into the app – to personalise health recommendations, insights and resources.
We may also use your personal data to:
- promote relevant products and services to you (including through in-app advertising and push notifications);
- analyse user behaviour on Blua so that we may improve the experience; and
- undertake data analytics.
If you do not provide certain information, you may be unable to register for and use the Blua app, or the features and benefits available to you through the app may be limited.
How we collect your data
Who we disclose your data to
We may disclose your information to anyone engaged by us or acting on our behalf in providing Blua, its features and services. This includes our related companies in the Bupa Group and the following suppliers:
- EonX Services Pty Ltd (Australia) who help deliver the Bupa Life Rewards loyalty program (review EonX privacy policy)
- Dacadoo ag (Switzerland) who help deliver the wellbeing dashboard, healthy habits and healthy challenges features in Blua (view the Dacadoo privacy policy)
- Tealium Inc. (United States) who provide data and analytics services to us (view the Tealium privacy policy).
Bupa or its suppliers, related entities, or sub-processors may process your data outside of Australia, including in the United Kingdom, European Union, Switzerland, or the United States. When an offshore party handles personal data, we take reasonable measures to ensure they manage that data in compliance with Australian privacy laws or commit to a level of protection equivalent to these laws.
